Choose an AI Music Video Tool: Song to Final Edit

Compare the roles of Suno, Runway, CapCut and Glinno, then plan a 30-second music video around the inputs you already have.

Start with the missing part

Making a music video can mean writing a song, creating visuals for existing audio, or editing finished clips. Identify the missing part before choosing software. Compare the inputs, audio controls and export options for your project.

ToolInput and roleQuestion to ask
SunoLyrics and style → songDo you need the music first?
Runway Act-TwoPerformance video + character image/video → performanceCan you supply a driving performance?
CapCutExisting media → edited sequenceAre the shots already available?
GlinnoPhoto or text idea → 5/10-second video with soundDo you need a short shot or a full-song edit?

Suno’s Custom mode accepts lyrics and style instructions. Act-Two uses a performance video, not simply a song upload. CapCut templates assemble existing media. Suno documentation, Act-Two documentation, CapCut templates

No song yet: settle the audio first

Write a specific brief, such as a graduation reunion between friends who promised to meet every year. Decide whether you need vocals or an instrumental. Once the song has a usable structure, select a self-contained excerpt and mark its opening, lift and ending.

This gives each shot a job. A face can introduce the story, a reaction can carry a pause and a caption can close the idea. Generating ten unrelated shots first makes those decisions harder. The original lyric examples can help you develop a small theme.

Already have a song: choose atmosphere or performance

Travel footage, city scenes and abstract visuals do not require a singing face. Keep a consistent location or palette and edit several shots around the audio.

For a character performing specific words, prepare a corresponding performance and select a tool that accepts it. Old Runway tutorials may point to standalone Lip Sync; Runway deprecated that tool on May 27, 2026 and directs users to Act-Two. Official retirement notice

A practical 30-second sequence

For a first reunion after graduation, choose an audio excerpt you can use, then assemble:

  1. 0–5 seconds: an old group photo with the year and place.
  2. 5–15 seconds: a two-person stage shot as the energy rises. Exact singing needs a separately prepared performance.
  3. 15–25 seconds: two five-second campus or travel shots. Cut with the rhythm without changing shots on every beat.
  4. 25–30 seconds: a recent photo and one shared promise.

A Glinno shot can retain its generated audio. If one song should run throughout, mix the clips in an editor so different vocals and backing tracks do not compete. Glinno’s effect form does not accept a full song or automatically assemble a full-length music video.

Compare against the same brief

Before paying, check accepted inputs, downloadable formats, useful duration and whether charges arise at generation or export. Finish one representative section before expanding it. A full-song video needs deliberate shot sequencing, not just a longer generation setting.
